Mayor Digs For Mandalay

The Mayor of Mitchell, Cr Bill Melbourne, officially turned the first sod announcing the commencement of construction on the shire’s newest residential community, ‘Mandalay at Beveridge’ last month.

At the ceremony Mayor Bill Melbourne highlighted the council’s support for the project by turning the first sod with a ‘golden shovel’ and reinforced the value of encouraging urban development throughout the shire.

Mandalay will eventually bring thousands of people to Beveridge, that together with the onsite amenity it will deliver, will ultimately provide a wonderful facility and thriving destination for the community at large,” Mr Melbourne said.

Register Now For A Slice Of Mandalay

‘Mandalay at Beveridge’ is gearing up to offer its first stage release with a wide selection of new home sites. Sales are expected to commence in late April and with hundreds of people already registered, early signs suggest these first lots won’t last long.

Mandalay will offer future residents a complete lifestyle experience with great onsite amenity including ‘Club Mandalay’ an architecturally designed community hub comprising a restaurant, bar, gym, tennis courts and more.

Other plans for the development include vast open space areas of up to 40 percent of the overall development with walking paths providing easy access and linkage to parks and residential areas.  A proposed school, retail precinct, and a potential site for active retirement, will complete the masterplan that will bring an estimated 6000 people to Beveridge.

The development will be released in several stages over a projected 10-year period and offer a variety of block sizes to suit all buyers, with many homesites offering views across the Thomson Perrett 18-hole golf course.

Thomson Tees Off For Mandalay

With construction now underway on the front nine, Australian golfing great, Peter Thomson recently inspected the site for his expert opinion.

The course, designed and by Thomson’s company, Thomson Perrett, said works were continuing to schedule, ensuring the timely delivery of golf to the community as it establishes.

“ The first two holes are already under construction and will take some time to grow in as we continue works on the third and forth holes with fairways, aprons and bunkers all under works,” Mr Thomson said.

The course will cater for the needs of many golfers, and the clubhouse will provide facilities for club hire and private functions for residents, visitors, corporate entities and more.
